Post Pic

The sixth annual Jan Harder Charity Golf Classic raised $45,000 in support of the Ottawa Public Library Foundation (OPLF). The event that attracted 144 golfers was held at Cedarhill Golf and Country Club on June 21st. Proceeds are being directed to the Ottawa Public Library Foundation (OPLF), and held in a special trust to assist with the future construction of the New Central Library.

Councillor Jan Harder said, "A new central facility will be vital to our city and will help Ottawa meet its goals of being inclusive, creative, innovative, proud and livable. It truly will be a place of civic pride and will enhance the services that we provide through all 33 of our branches, making our system stronger."

"We're thrilled that Jan has decided to donate the tournament's proceeds to the new central library capital project," said Library Foundation chair Howard Whittaker. "We're hoping that more of our community leaders will step up and contribute to this important fund."

"I want to thank all of our golfers and sponsors this year for making my golf tournament a success," said Harder. "We couldn't have done it without you." Platinum Sponsors The Minto Group, Scotiabank, Mattamy Homes and Monarch; Dinner Sponsors Fotenn Urban Planners and Designers, Tamarack Homes; and Lunch Sponsors Tartan, and North American Development Property Group led this year's corporate sponsors.
